I am writing in response to the advertisement published in the webpage of the University. I would like to be considered for the position of English teacher. I hope you find my studies as a teacher in Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso and my experience as a bilingual institute teacher would qualify me for the position.

I am a professional EFL teacher. I graduated from Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso three years ago. Since then, I have been working as English Teacher in the Bilingual Institute and taking part of different projects in connection with teaching.

Although my short experience as a teacher, according to my qualifications in the projects that I mention before, I think I might be useful for the position of the English teacher in your university.
One of these projects was about a leadership inside the classroom so; I could take part of other activities if you want to.

Music can heal people

Music, like it or not, is part of our society and is also becoming more and more important because although we do not notice it. Music has a huge influence in order to improve some aspect of our life.
Today, music can even heal people.

On the other side, some research affirms that is impossible that music can transform genes in order to treat mental diseases.
Secondly, the fact that music can help to treat one disorder or one person does not mean the treatment will be effective for all types of diseases or everyone.

However, contrasting research affirms that music influences people, so if we add to this medicine, technology and therapies we will have effective treatments to heal people.

All in all, people listen to music everyday and wherever they go, so we have been influenced even if we do no notice it and in a properly way, it can definitely heal people.

Welcome freshmen week

   One of the most important weeks in our life is when we arrived at university and left school behind. Every year, usually on March, thousand of student enjoys a serie of traditional situations as part of its welcome. Meeting people including new classmates and teachers, new places to visit, new challenges and a whole experience in front of our eyes.

   It all started with a little welcome ceremony, where freshmen students have the opportunity to meet each other and also some general information about its classes. After that and during the week, all is summarized in introductory classes by the morning and parties, city tour and all type of activities in order to have fun by the afternoon. 

    What I liked the most about all the experience was definitely the city tour. We went to Cerro Alegre in Valparaiso. I remembered how much I enjoyed taking photograph of houses, streets and graffitis that really caught my attention.
    All in all, It is an exciting and unique experience that we have to been through as students, so let´s enjoy it!.

Internet, advantages or disadvantages?

Science or Humanities?

                             

   Nowadays, for most of the people around the world, science seems to be more important than humanities. I believe that either science or humanities are equally important, actually they need and complement each other.

  Medicine, chemistry or physics are three different fields where breakthrough discoveries has occurred. Nobody can deny the fact that those discoveries have helped us everyday to improve our standard of life, but is not a reason to think that science is in a higher level.

    Despite what it was previously said, there is a reason to think that humanities are the base of everything. Think, read or write are daily activities since the beginning and they have been essential in the process of every discovery in science too.

   To summarize, I think that we do not have to choose between them, all the way around, we have the opportunity to use them together so it is a must take advantage of it.
